Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Four ladies from our church just returned from China, and while I could tell you many things, the most noteworthy events took place in the morning and evening meetings in our hotel rooms.
Each day we met for prayer, sharing, and Bible study in the morning and most evenings. In fact, when we travel together, I try to make sure that these meetings are never a mere formality, but rather a serious time of getting things done.
On the last leg of the journey, we were many hours in a hotel in Beijing and there was time to do an Old Testament survey. It was certainly not comprehensive, but it was a good framework study, and we can not do without studies of these kinds.
The morning meetings were about the fullness of the Spirit, and they were simple and quiet.
All the scripture study in the world will not lead to the in-filling of the Holy Spirit if He is not allowed to reveal the crucified and risen Lord through the Word.
A great chasm is seen today between Christians who crow about the Spirit but operate on experience only and Christians who crow about Bible knowledge but deny the power of the Holy spirit.
We must seek Him in His Word and at the same time, there must be a pursuit of Him in prayer - by that I mean that the one who prays must press and continue to press that he be completely available to the Lord , no matter what!
It is tragic to see polarization in the Church, but God is still calling the believer to complete abandon!
That prayer can not be continued without scriptural fuel and the scriptures can not be fueled without that prayer!
