Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Our field director, who is in Siberia, left his plane tickets in Ukraine this week.
It was interesting watching my husband, who is the director of the mission. There was never a word implying that the tickets should not have been left, or that anything should have been done differently, for that matter.
Of course, as an obedient soldier, one cannot berate the one who seems to have cause an inconvenience, but a sighted believer will go even farther. We must learn to acknowledge that God in His sovereignty has designed many things that seem to be mistakes to the one-dimensional Christian.
Some wonderful things have already come out of the ticket situation, but we would have easily missed them, had we been grousing.
When there is a hitch in the plan, the Soldier of the Cross must learn to accept the fact that God is still in control, and wait for and expect the Lord.
Many times I have been bumped from a plane ride, or snowed in overnight and left physically uncomfortable. If I think about my own situation, I will be miserable and resent it, but if I look around for someone to love and am sensitive to the Holy Spirit, I will no doubt see Jesus.
The Lord can and will redeem absolutely any situation if we look to Him. The chances are, it won't be in the way we would design!
