Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Tonight I sat watching two thousand people sing "Let earth receive her King. . ."
Yet, the great tragedy is, very few in the audience have even the slightest idea that they can be rescued, adopted, and made whole!
Oh, Brother or Sister in Christ! Please do not become dull to the fact that most around you are groping, and holding up a mask. It is not possible to live anything but a diffused life without Christ!
It is so easy to forget that the man who fills your gas tank is headed for the edge of the cliff. It is so easy to forget  your boss is headed for the edge of the cliff.
Would you really stand and watch them slip over? Would you do nothing? Then, why are you doing nothing now? If you were really faithfully praying, you would not be able to keep silent unless the Holy Spirit restrained you.
We don't have to be in known sin or deliberate anything to become passive - it happens like the collecting of dust, and we must recognize it and do something about it!
We know we must pay our taxes, and so we do.If we don't a letter arrives, and the level of doom in it frightens us into taking action. On the other hand, we know the things to come will really happen - we know we must account for our words, the use of time, and we know that those around us have eternal consequences for non-response to the gospel.
It doesn't move us, because knowledge of those things does little. It is the sight of those things that has affect on the Christian, and that comes in the time of prayer.

Lord, I know I miss a lot. But again, I want to ask you to increase my sensitivity to the Holy Spirit - I want to surrender my body and my faculties for your purposes. I see the waves of the lost going over the cliff's edge, and I beg to be used. Please Lord, do whatever it takes to mold me into your obedient, effective soldier. I desperately beg you - my Lord and my King.
