Do not give
correct, pat answers to the new believer or the unsaved who are
asking questions. It is the kiss of death. Most of the time the one trying to answer is actually clueless and doesn't know it - that is if he or she is just telling the other the things that he knows (but probably doesn't live). The Lord wants a chance to answer. The Holy Spirit will look far beyond the pat, learned response and will go to the infinite heart of the issue. He will always be more simple, wooing, and will never pile a load onto the inquirer. The one who studies and learns on his knees is never quick to pass on knowledge to the babe in Christ. Rather he takes him by the hand and leads him to the Lover of his Soul. |
