Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

If I could do it all myself, I wouldn't need to lean on Him, would I?
There will not be a time in this life when the Lord will allow me to feel adequate or fully prepared, or to foresee the most snarley surprises. But that is only because He loves me.
The point is not to make me a little independent source of Life - the point is to train me to put all my weight on Him and to have my gaze fixed on Him so that it is unbroken.
He did not create us to have the ability to deal with worry, fear, lust, loneliness, or anger. Yet, in spite of the clear and repeated call in the Bible, countless Christians are running to counselors and self-help books to try to absorb these things into a control system.
     Listen. . .
He did not intend that we should "deal" with our pasts. He does not want the old nature analyzed and placated.
He wants a living sacrifice through whom He can love with Heaven's Love, and through whom the Glory of the Lord can pour out because that believer needs to be held in the cleft of the Rock.
Because He loves us, He created us so that there can be no well-being until there is a willingness to be totally dependent.
      Remember this old song?

      Precious Lord, take my hand,
Lead me on, let me stand:
I am tired, I am weak,
      I am worn.
Through the storm, through the night,
Lead me on, to the Light.
Take my hand , precious Lord,
      Lead me home.
