Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

When there is no hidden, unhealthy agenda, ministering to someone else has a return of personal healing.
We live in a fallen world. What's more, even if you are a believer, you're a sinner saved by Grace. So, you have been hurt many times as the years have gone by, and the Lord has several wonderful provisions for healing those hurt places.
Christian psychology is not one of them. You will never have real healing by looking for explanations and launching detective expeditions into the past.
What God has done is give us endless opportunity for healing in obedience - He has been specific about it.
He has said to cast our cares upon Him, He has said to ask for corporate prayer, He has told us to take hold of the promises, and in Isaiah, He has said that the caring for the hungry and the naked is the "true fast", and those who obey in this area will have their "ancient cities rebuilt".
That is quite a statement, especially when you consider that folks will do just about anything else.
Who are the hungry and the naked? It can mean physical or it can mean spiritual, and there are many who are genuinely needy. They are all around but can be found easily in jails and nursing homes.
When the ache is deepest, the sweetest salve is applied by the Holy Spirit at the time when the Christian gives out of his poverty - like the Macedonians.
He ministered from the Cross and He ministered through eleven scraggly man. He can certainly minister through you.
