- You
will not be fired from being born again, nor can you resign or
withdraw.
So there. You have no way of going
back, and besides, as my husband always says, no one has ever
heard anyone say "I regret giving my life to Christ."
We now live in a dimension where
all is known, just not by us. We must learn to lean on
the One who knows all, and has asked us to take His Word for
it.
This is the hard thing isn't it?
You have been running your own affairs for a good long
time, and now it is time to learn to serve the One who runs your
affairs. That is quite a switch, and many never make it.
The consequences of not making
the switch will become fully clear in Heaven, but here on earth,
the problem is evidenced by massive insecurity and an obsessive
and even abnormal need to have everything buttoned down and predictable.
The only problem is that there
will be an added measure of unrest because the resident Holy
Spirit is grieved.
We need only to come before Him,
and tell Him honestly that we need to be led into rest. One thing
at a time will come before us, and the Holy spirit will remind
us of the instruction of God's Word. We then have only to
obey.
"Trust and obey - for there's
no other way,
To be happy in Jesus,
but to trust and obey."
