Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

The cry for rescue is never ignored in heaven.
Sometimes it is tempting to just hope or even assume that the Lord knows what I would ask if I were asking, so if He wants to do something, He will do it anyway. I have actually heard people say that.
That is of course, supremely ignorant.
The King of Glory has set it up so that He is training us to come to Him, pour out our hearts, and then to watch for Him as our Victor and the Lifter of our heads!
There are times when I paint myself into a corner, and am still unaware of it when He delivers me. Only then do I see what I have done. There are times when I am rushing headlong toward the edge of the cliff, and He catches me up just in time. Only then do I see where I was headed.
But when I am between the Egyptians and the Red Sea, I'd better cry out to the One who created the problem before and behind me. He has designed it that way and that is the way it must be.
When we knock on a door, we don't know someone has heard us until the door is opened, and the evidence stands before us. But in God's economy things are different.
By faith we cry out to Him, because He has told us to, and by faith we wait for and look for and expect Him before the evidence stands before us.
     Why?
     Because He said so.
