- Remember
that satan is allowed to project feelings on us that are quite
real.
A Christian who lives by feelings
will have a guilt and anger battle twenty-four hours a day because
he is being totally manipulated.
When the enemy shoots off his little
fiery darts, they should not be allowed to determine words or
behavior. God's Word tells us how to act and what to say, and
there must be no compromise.
The believer who is easily swayed
by feelings also usually tries to "sense" God instead
of simply obeying Him. A few weeks ago, my secretary said "For
years I tried to sense the Lord, but as I have grown older and
have taken in more of the Word, I have begun to see Him,
and have lost the need to try to sense Him."
The mark of a truly sensitive
believer is solid, unwavering behavior and language that agrees
with the Bible.
Does that person ever feel
shallow? Depressed? Weak? Afraid? Angry?
- Of course.
But ability and stability
go together - the ability to see God goes hand in hand with the
stability that is built through obedience.
