Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Easier is not better than harder.
You must be vigilant and avoid "Christian things" that are made easy. In today's commercial Christianity this includes many short-cut computer Bible study courses, videos on renewing your mind and Bibles that are "easier to understand".
Nothing real comes without prayer and waiting on the Lord.
     There is no short-cut.
    Not even one.
And in the kingdom of heaven, just having something in your brain or even experiencing natural illumination concerning the supernatural, does not count.
What counts is the slow, steady, obedience to the Word of God - along with the watching and waiting for Him, no matter what.
The flesh hates this approach, but the flesh clings to death, while the Spirit leads to Life. The flesh despises both the seeming slowness of the operation of the Lord, and the watching and waiting for Him. the flesh wants it all now, and wants to be in control of the production and operation.
Computers and rockets are great and fast, but the deep things never change, and the way acquiring of them never changes - complete yieldedness to the Lover of our Soul.
God's way is to reveal the meaning of a verse to a child by the Holy Spirit, not by bypassing the Spirit and making the verse "easier" so that the little mind can access it. That person does not understand the Work of God, and has no experience in asking the Lord questions about Bible passages and waiting years for answers.
There is a new gospel being preached and sold today. It is without a Cross and it is Bloodless. It is easy because it is manmade and shallow.
Pay the price. The Prince of Peace is not sold on video.
