Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

I must always allow the Lord to remind me why I go to church.
All the way through God's Word, God met his people in the assembly. In the Old Testament, He met them at the Tent of Meeting and the Tabernacle. then there was the Temple.
Remember that when Jesus came, the Word tells us that He was found in the Temple, teaching.
After Pentecost, we learn that the Body of Christ is universal and local, and that the Lord speaks to and through His people in the local assembly.
There are those who will not go anywhere because they cannot be satisfied, and those people are always deceived.
We don't go to church to be fed, we go in obedience.
The Lord said to Peter, ". . .feed my sheep. . " but He did not say to the sheep ". .be thou fed. ." Yet the church service has become the issue of focus rather than obedience to the Lord.
I believe I can honestly say if I lived in a place where there was not an assembly of born again brothers, I would find one - because the Lord would provide one, and then learn to pray to lay down my life in such a way that the Life of the Lord could be free to show forth through an assembly.
Be the one to encourage. Be the one to pray for the others by name. Be the one to get up and pray for the message each Sunday. Be the one who is always there, even in sickness and sorrow. Step under the load and experience the lightness.
