       If you live with a critical person, you must not agree with him or her.
     You do not have to disagree in a confrontation, but you may not listen to slander against another, and you should not entertain or be part of a conversation, even if only one party is pointing out "flaws" of another.
     It is unbelievably easy to be overtaken by a critical spirit, and it is comfortable for the flesh because it feels like the faultfinder is sighted and the object of criticism is either evil or blind.
     A critical spirit is always at work to destroy oneness and control at least one other person's opinion.
     A critical spirit actually longs to win you over to a position against the one being discussed.
     I have seen it halted, but it is an amazingly rare occurrence. My father would not speak against anyone, nor would he be spoken to in that way. If someone approached him with a negative word about a brother or sister, he would cut them off and tenderly give the speaker other topic choices.
     Remember, love covers - doesn't cover up, but does cover. Furthermore, look up all the verses where we are told to bear each other's "troublesome moral flaws" (Amplified).
     The soldier who is ready to obey in this area is ready to allow the Holy Spirit to teach him what it means to "esteem the other more highly than himself".
