Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

A believer must live a life of confession and repentance.
For some reason, Christians seem to think they can lope along in the Christian life, growing and learning and trying to know God without this beautiful aspect of Christian living.
I suppose the lack of teaching from the pulpit doesn't help, but the Word of God certainly makes things clear. Although I do not save myself or maintain my own salvation, there are some things I must do. Yes, the Blood bought my pardon, and buys my way into the Throne Room.
But the life I live in the Lord is crippled by sin that blinds the eyes and plugs the ears. It doesn't mean that there has to be deliberate sin - it just means that as I go on with the Lord, the Holy Spirit will reveal more and more of my tendencies that don't match up with His.
In order to respond appropriately, I must acknowledge that my way is not right and that I am willing and eager to change - to be changed, whatever it takes, and do things His way.
It is a path of delight and freedom.
There is no disgrace in confession and repentance - only the shedding of shackles!
