The one who
needs the most prayer and attention from you is the
one (or ones) that God has put you with in the closest situations. Have you noticed that your closest relationships are the ones you often neglect in prayer? We tend to think about and pray for the situations and trials that are the most demanding. Consequently, the people prayed for and about, are those who either cause us much trouble, or are allowed to pierce into our hearts. The Holy Spirit teaches us to pray by faith in the same way that we live - according to God's Word. Prayer is work. Yes, I must address the concerns of life, but I have been assigned to a circle of people that are my immediate prayer responsibility, and I must remember not to neglect this duty. When I stand before Him, I will be held accountable for those closest - at least in terms of my behavior toward them, and my attitude in prayer toward them. May the Lord have license to place me with whomever He wills! |
