Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Do you feel weak , inadequate and unworthy?
That's good! That means God can use you. Many are preaching today's message of feeling good about yourself, and it is crippling to the work of the Lord.
The Lord has never selected servant-soldiers based on their worldy qualifications. Let's see - to take the gospel to the gentiles he chose a well-known Jewish but disgraced saint. Not only that, but removed the possibility of further appearance of success by allowing him to be put in prison.
To evangelize China and raise hundreds of orphans, the Lord called a tiny little woman with no education and no familiarity with China. As a matter of fact, the whole first year she was there, she grabbed mule heads and tugged the animals into an inn courtyard so that their owners would stay the night! Some fine ministry that is!
Another tremendous missionary to China was actually almost an invalid, and was seriously diabetic - Jaffrey. He went in disgrace after being disowned by his father, and year after year was filled with hardship, rejection and slow, plodding work.
But you see, we look back on these lives and we see Jesus. We see His personality being formed in these precious ones, and we love Him all the more when we see how His deliverance produced His presence.
Stop analyzing. If there is known, unconfessed sin, get rid of it before the throne. Otherwise, pull your nose out of your naval and move on. You may only spend time once, and you'd better spend it on seeing about the Kingdom of Heaven.
Forgetting about yourself is supernatural - it comes through obedience and rescuing others. That produces a sweet and deep peace, and the absence of "bad self-image".
The Soldier of the Cross ought not to have any self image - good or bad. We are not qualified to make that assessment, and it goes directly against the Word of God.
Take up the Cross and follow!
