The Lord has
not told us anything other than the essential. He has not given optional information and He has not told us more than we need to know. The interesting thing is, man has tried to remember, assimilate, and understand all that God has said, as though it could be held by the mind. On the other hand, man has tried to experience the things of God without experienceing God. And in the middle is knowledge of God that comes from the desperate seeking of His Presence - not the seeking of His fireworks or His fun-facts, but His Presence. The enjoyment of that Presence comes at a high price, and for many that cost has been reputation, family, even physical torture. but the glory can't be denied. There is no web page or course that can teach the Presence of God, and only those who are desperate for him through and through can experience Him in this way. Many are saved, but few are willing to uncurl rigidly curved fingers to let go of the building-sized lead weights that keep them from running the race. We are building eternal things now. there is not going to be an end when we die and then a fresh start in heaven. No! We who are his will simply cross the river and dwell on the other side. Now we see it by faith, and we acknowlege that we are sojourners and pilgrims. Hallelujah for the Fire by night and the Pillar by day! |
