Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Why do we fast and pray?
Certainly not to persuade the Lord - it doesn't push Him into agreement that we have not eaten.
But there is much work to do, and in the same way that some rocks and mountains must be dynamited, certain works and strongholds of the enemy can only be broken up by fasting and prayer.
We don't have to understand it to do it. It is enough that He has given it to us to obey, and those who have done so in faith have found Him to be faithful in this as in all else.
There is a fasting movement sweeping the Christian world today, and on that I withhold comment. I will say the fasting done by the Soldier of the Cross is not to abolish the bridge time makes between the seen and the unseen, but rather it is done to prepare for prayer. Warrior prayer.
Prayer that calls in the anointing that breaks the yoke.
Prayer that makes the wounded whole.
