The Lord has
something to say to you if you will only listen. It has been my observation that Christians have such strong agenda, it is often impossible for them to cock an ear to hear what the Lord might be saying. Often the Spirit will speak clearly through a spouse or a boss, but the believer only ignores the comment and actually argues against it, coming back with his own view of why his already tried and true plan or pattern is superior. The reason these retorts are so common is because every time the Lord speaks, He speaks newness. The thing to be done or tried or the advance to be made in the Name of Jesus is so far out of the realm of our experience, that unless we are taking the scriptures into the deepest parts of our being by prayer, we dismiss His leading because of impossibility or imprudence. I have found it is possible to speak to a group, see women nodding in assent, yet when the lesson is personally applied, there is resistance that begins in hell. Soldier of the Cross, understand this: He is not going to say words you could put in His mouth - He will say a new thing, and you must listen. Moreover, He may speak to you through your least favorite person in the world! Listen all the time. All real born again believers know who are in spiritual authority. Be sure you do not utter one negative word about even one person through whom God can speak, and then lend an ear! Don't hesitate or question. Just move or be still - what ever is His leading. |
