Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Isn't it tempting to look at other for a standard of self-evaluation?
But Paul tells us in no uncertain terms that we are not to do that.  We are not to compare ourselves to either ourselves or others.
Why is that? It would seem that one could look around and watch "stronger" Christians and emulate them.
Wrong! While I do learn at the feet of those who have served and I must submit to authority in the Body of Christ, my sensory observations and perceptions are meaningless in the divine realm.
We are imitators of only One, and that is done supernaturally. As a Soldier of the Cross, I must learn to put aside my own assessments and lean on the Everlasting Arms for support and security. My security may absolutely not depend on my human perception of myself or others.
I must submit to the surgical knife of the Lover of my Soul.
There is no other way to change if I am to be part of heaven's economy.
He said so, and that is enough for me!
