Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

If you are a Soldier of the Cross, you are responsible to feed the sheep.
You are also responsible to be a Pillar in the house of the Lord, and that means you must be the one to be cheerful, when there is work to be done and you don't feel like doing it.
You must be early and prepared. You must not consider your tiredness important, and you must greet others in obedience and with love.
You don't have a choice. Anything else is sin.
We have so few examples today and we hear constantly about improving our condition so that we can serve the Lord "stress-free".
I am here to tell you, there is no such thing. But the soldier of the cross can walk on the water when it comes to performing the daily tasks and leading meetings, cleaning the messes others make and pushing the body beyond what it wants to do.

Oh Lord, thank you that you do not lead with physical energy or enthusiasm. Thank you that you lead with a vision of the Cross.
Teach me to be a Soldier who will eagerly and cheerfully take up the Cross daily and follow you - anywhere and all the time.
There is no thrill in existence but you, and I want you all the time. Please make whatever changes must be made to use my life to feed the sheep.
