Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Following Jesus means just that - and you can't follow anyone if you are carrying a house, a big bag of worries, or several other people.
Hands must be empty for work and eyes and ears must be without distraction.
     Is it beautiful to you?
The Bible says "Without a vision, the people perish."  That means you must be able to see something in order to want it. These things come in prayer, and by yieldedness to the indwelling Holy Spirit.
In the performance of music, a musician must be able to hear something in his head in order to execute it on an instrument. If he has to stop and figure it out, he looses momentum, and all playing must cease or there will be a terrible tangle.
The Christian life is like that. Believers must be able to respond to the vision the Lord gives that enables them to leave all and follow Him. It isn't pretty to the flesh, but if the heart doesn't leap, either there is no vision, or there is deliberate rebellion.
Both must be dealt with in prayer, and ASAP!
