A Christian cannot be fired from the family of God.
He can be exposed and he can be chastised, but he will still be under the Blood, and he will still be connected with the rest of the great Body of Christ.
According to the Bible, we are adopted sons, and He never leaves us or forsakes us, or lets us get away with anything. While we don't always know what is actually going on in someone's life, it isn't hard to spot the nominal Christian.
A person who says he is content as a believer without any service, devotional life, or Lordship, has a problem more severe than backsliding. There is a good chance he has never tasted the new birth.
We don't have all knowledge, and just when we think we have things figured out, the equation proves inoperable! But many great Christians have claimed that if there is no Lordship, there is no Lord.
In any event, prayer ripens the one prayed for. Prayer also opens a particular quality of heaven's initiation to the object of prayer, and relieves the praying person from needing to understand the other's condition.
We don't need to know everything about everybody - there is already Someone who knows. We just need to pray. If the wanderer is saved, prayer will press at him, and if he is lost, prayer will let him see the lighthouse on the shore!
