Have you ever
actually met someone who was entirely given to knowing and following
the Lord? Chances are, no. But if you have, you know that person listens keenly when you speak. He (or she) pounces on each glorious crumb that falls from the table of the Lord's Supper (as practiced in the real eating of His body and drinking of his Blood.) That person loves the Word of God, and the two of you can not speak on any subject without coming back to what the Word says - and he knows it because he's memorized it on his knees, not because someone else taught him what to think or believe. He didn't try to get that way - he just fell in love. He decided to trust and obey, and then he fell in love - with the One who gives power to live. |
