       "Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus;
      Just to Take Him at His Word. . ."
     We all know the song, but why, oh why, is it so difficult? Because we are familiar with the old way of doing things, and in order to become familiar with God's way, we must sever ties with the things that for years have given us the illusion of security.
      In writing about this, there is always the danger the reader will assume success is the license to teach about it. That, of course, is not so.
      In the Bible the Lord's heart is won by the Soldier of the Cross who wants to do things the Lord's way. What's more, through the scriptures the accounts of those serving Him are of men and women whose "arrival" was never the issue.
     Obedience has always been the issue.
     Nothing has changed.
     I must press in prayer, or I cannot claim to really want to learn to trust Him wholly. If I do not pursue the matter in prayer, I will mistake my accurate Christian teaching on the matter for genuine experience, and then wonder why I am so insecure all the time!
     Remember, we have an "along-side" One who resides inside. If we present ourselves in prayer, He will be faithful to do the work.
    Then the Glory becomes far more beautiful than the provision.
    And we are able to begin to learn to take the Provider at His Word!
