Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Believers need to remember the Holy Spirit is not a teaching, but a Person.
Some have developed such an aversion to the abuse of the word "fullness" that they are afraid to be really filled. But we are so commanded.
There is no such thing as a Soldier of the Cross, without the infilling of the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit reveals Jesus, interprets the Word, and convicts of sin ( and many other things.) There is no enduring power to witness, nor can the listener hear the message, without the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit does not put on shows, and He can be recognized only by those who have sought to be filled, and given up other things to make room.
Many, many times, we are told to be filled. In the Greek, we are told to "be being filled." It is an active thing, and not something that just happens once with a banner to wave in memory of the occasion.
Those who are Spirit filled see things others do not see. They are easily changed, and they understand the Holy Spirit is tender and can be easily quenched.
I have been in many churches where there has been much hooting and hollering and trumpeting about the Holy Spirit, but whatever spirit it has been, it has not been the One who is Holy.
A believer cannot be easily led nor really have his mouth filled with heaven"s power until he is filled. I have known those who have prevailed in prayer for months until they "broke through", and I have know many who simply made up their minds to die to self and allow God to do whatever it would take to bring that about - for the purpose of obedience and service.
It is about availability, and it is about being "set free and put in a large place".
The Lord has made the way narrow, but He has never dealt with man in a template fashion.
He doesn't fill us to elevate us in experience, rather He fills the Soldier of the Cross who will give up all to follow Him.
Te Lord is thrilling, beautiful, exquisitely intimate, Holy, creative and our Rock.
    But He isn't cheap!
