Remember, the
kingdom of darkness has as its goal the simulation of the Kingdom
of Light. All around the world I hear stories of "peace" and "a marvelous warmth" that come upon some of those who dabble in occultic healings. Of course it comes with good feelings, or they wouldn't do it! Don't give these comments the time of day - it isn't worth it. The arsonist has marvelous feelings as he sees his fire rage. In fact, as time goes on, it is the only thing that he lives for. Why? Because those feelings are addictive. And Christianity today is filled with the same kinds of activities, it's just that they have been disguised. A Soldier of the Cross will not do something to invoke any particular feeling - as a matter of fact, he will do the thing that God's Word says to do, even if the immediate emotion experienced is extremely unpleasant. We sing songs about being satisfied with Jesus. It is a tragedy today that most are so dissatisfied that the goal is to be satisfied, rather than to see Him. Don't go near it! Don't go to that meeting, and don't be passive. If someone who is into that sort of thing is a believer and wants to lay hands on you and pray that you will have this experience, DO NOT DO IT. It isn't harmless. You may feel rude, but the only thing you are rejecting is some demon who wants a place in your emotions. The Way of the Cross is lean, and it is simple. It is sweet, and He is there. His experiences have to do with His Word and His Body, and there will be absolutely no side shows in heaven! This is a particular problem in the former Soviet Union, where some have unknowingly been emissaries of satan, and many sheep have been confused. I implore you, do as Paul instructed Timothy - have no part of them, and go the other way! |
