Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

The Soldier of the Cross must learn not to react to everything!
Every tactic of the enemy is executed with the intention of making the believer react to the event or thought projected.
And of course, we are such creatures of habit that most of the time, reaction happens before thoughts of faith can formulate.
If you look at every verse that addresses human behavior, you will see that even idolatry is born out of reaction - the need to stuff the void with the closest counterfeit.
All ungodly conversation is out of reaction - gossip, criticism, retort, insult, half-truth.
But a Soldier does not live like this, and he will learn to wait and choose not to react. It doesn't mean he has to be stoic, it simply means that a life lived in wisdom can't be one peppered by reactions!
Saints, we must learn to be still and then to say what agrees with the Word of God or say nothing. We must learn to let some things happen and pass by, without our marking the moment or event.
Jesus came with a purpose, and He wasted no energy or time in reaction even to those who crucified Him.
This has nothing to do with passivity, in fact, it is supernatural.
     Isn't it beautiful?
     It's how He is.
