Children must learn to pay deliberate respect to their elders.
From the time a child is tiny, he must be taught at every opportunity to respect his elders, and when he is older, there will be an open door for the Holy Spirit to reveal many things to him.
One reason Christian parents don't often take opportunity to tech this is, we think of respect as something that is deserved.
     But that isn't true.
The Bible teaches us to respect the office - so we must respect all leaders and those above us, even if they are dirtbags.
Respect is the fruit of understanding that God has given authority. I don't have to like the person or agree with him, but I can certainly respect him.
Also, respect has to do with the behavior of the one honoring respectfulness. Respect is not the opposite of disdain, it is merely the appropriate behavior and attitude toward the sovereignty of God and how He has decided to do things.
Don't wait until your little ones walk and talk - start a calm teaching pattern from the first day. You don't wait until they speak before teaching them words, and they are in fact learning to speak from the second they are born. How is that? Because they hear.
You have human lives to mold - don't worry about mistakes, just get in there and build, one brick on another. Pray about these things and the Lord will make clear openings.
But don't wait. Start now, and watch the Lord bless!
