Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

The Bible makes it more than clear  that nothing happens because of "the strength of a man's legs or the number of his horses".
Yet, when it looks like the thing we want might collapse, we go into spiritual convulsions instead of asking the Lord for calm in the storm. That 's natural.
What we need is not to merely know about the supernatural but to be able to see it by faith. And as I said last night, faith must be fueled.
The Lord allows frequent situations that can easily allude us - they are opportunities to choose the security of the Everlasting Arms, and the other choice is always stepping into a state of squawking and flapping about, feathers flying, so that we can give ourselves the illusion of "at least doing something."
That is not the Lord's way. He is looking for Soldiers who will go into the camp of the enemy with a clay pot and a trumpet - not those who want a bigger gun.
The flesh always resists faith because it desperately wants to be in control, and it wants the assurance and the reassurance of that control constantly.
But the Soldier of the Cross is eager to learn to listen for the "sound of marching in the mulberry trees". He knows the Lord's way is the only Glory way, and only those who are willing to pay the price recognize it.
     What is the price?
     Everything!
