Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Every Christian has the obligation to be a Pillar in the House of the Lord!
You are not allowed to just go to get charged up, or inspired. You are not allowed to go just out of habit (although it is a good habit to have.)
You are responsible in prayer for each member and you are responsible to prepare your heart before each meeting. You ought to sing your brains out at every opportunity and you should always maintain a physical posture that reinforces your alertness.
At times when you have the least inclination, you must still go to the unlovely and love them. You may not seek the attention of those "important" ones, and when this responsibility is taken on, if it is really born of prayer and done by the Holy Spirit, it will be pretty thankless humanly. In fact, others will do far less and get more recognition.
That's just the way it is for a Soldier of the Cross.
But we move on. Time is short, and the Body of Christ is a beautiful mystery - His physical presence on the earth, and we must affirmatively serve.
Who in your church is always there? Who has a quiet spirit and is willing to do the grubby work without praise or recognition? Who prays for the sick and visits the shut-ins? Who throws back his head and roars at the top of his lungs when it is time to sing? Who is not late? Who listens with all his being? Who will hug and love the one who smells bad and has dandruff?
Who will be a Pillar in the House of the Lord?
     I hope it is you!
