Let go of yesterday. If you don't, you will turn into a pillar of salt. That is the whole point of the story of Lot's wife. Many Christians today have a fascination with psychology and it causes them to try to relive the past instead of walking in obedience. They have a tendency to miss the leading of the Lord now, and they also become prone to thinking about themselves and their past much of the time. That is not godly thought. The study of the old nature - mine or anyone else's is not going to enable me to take up the Cross and follow Him. That is why the Holy Spirit recorded all the foolish answers given to the Lord by those who had just one more thing to do before they could follow Him. If there is something you can still do, do it - if it is wise - an apology, etc. Otherwise, remember that the only thing more off track than looking to the left or the right is turning completely around and looking back! |
