You are simply
not allowed to give up! You have a divine commission, and that is all there is to it. Can you take it back? Can you undo your new birth? Of course not - a newborn can't crawl back into the birth canal, and there is nothing that can change that. If you have really experienced the new birth, the Holy spirit is lovingly at your heels, pressing, convicting and energizing. There comes a time in the life of the believer when he must tell the Lord he is willing to give up any human life at all, and he is willing to really be a living sacrifice and not just sing about it. Remember, if there is no Lordship, there is no Lord! |
