Most homes with
children have eruptions on Sunday mornings. The enemy is active always, but I believe he does his best work if he can have an effect on a meeting of the Blood-bought saints! Let us teach our children to be vigilant, and during the week, have family prayer about the irritation and distress that seems to come out of nowhere before church. Let's teach them the sacredness and preciousness of the Body of Christ. Not only do we resist the attempts to stir us up, but we also must fight for the privilege of preparing ourselves before the meeting. Children must do this also. There must be confession and repentance if needed, and we make way for the freedom of the Holy Spirit by asking for it, and by setting our bodies and faculties in motion to receive. Do you hear much about this? No. Why not? Because almost no one does it. Make your household aware that each Member has the responsibility to be a Pillar in the House of the Lord. That means preparation of mind and heart, and all who are born again must learn to do it! |
