Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Don't forget, many who say they are searching for truth are devoted to the search and not to the finding of truth.
Ministering to others can be perplexing when the one needing attention refuses to listen but only wants to argue, and the believer wanting counsel wants only to talk and not to listen.
Even though the fields really are white unto harvest, there are often situations to watch for. Many who seem attracted to the Lord but will not accept Him once they have heard the gospel, are simply more interested in the stimulation of intellectual banter about spiritual things.
Often those people frequent meetings that offer "chat sessions" and many times a comaraderie builds around the willingness to talk and talk and talk. That person will never come to Christ as long as the Christian plays the game. Only when there is firmness and the Truth is offered in His simplicity will that lost one find an opportunity to receive the Lord.
Also there are many Christians who feel desperate for attention, and as long as they can find someone to talk about their problem, they are like a heroin addict who has one more fix.
As cruel as it seems, the Soldier of the Cross will not buy into indulging the habit, but will offer Christ or nothing.
It's hard. But it is the only way some find healing.
One of my favorite things about the Lord is, He never compromises and He isn't squishy.
