Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

You can scream at a deaf man, but he will only think you look ridiculous.
The Lord does work through prayer and that means in the heart of the one prayed for and in the heart of the one doing the praying. It is easy to avoid prayer and go right for the jugular - mentally convince the unsaved or fallen one that he must believe or do something.
But the Soldier of the Cross who has persisted in prayer has a quality of patience in the situation that supercedes the seeming lack of understanding or stubbornness of the one in need. The Soldier is in touch and is sensitive to the movings of the Spirit of God, and one of the most important things is, perhaps the Soldier may not understand.
We must labor in prayer for those who need it and be less concerned about the skills of argument. The gift of having a Word of Knowledge is rare in the Church today because we are so concerned about honing skills of persuasion rather than allowing the Lord to work through us to win the needy.
He Who created all we see can create His own Life in and through anyone - anyone!
