What is the meaning of "the fellowship of His sufferings?"
Many can give an acceptably correct answer, but few actually want to know.
Until we allow the Lord to lop away the parts, places, reactions, and priorities that are not useful to Him, we can't begin to understand the preciousness of what He has done for us.
How can it be put into words that the King of Glory loved you so devotedly He was willing to endure the agony and sin of all time so that He could share spiritual intimacy with you?
When He says He is knocking on the door of your heart (that verse is to believers, not unbelievers) it is to come in and be together in a way that is not common. It is to share. It is to enjoy the union.
We only see the value and beauty of what and how He suffered for us when we are no longer afraid of what He will do if we fully let Him in.
He is not going to press into the door and make a place for Himself. But if we are willing to commit fully and drop all else to gaze upon Him and listen to Him, we will taste and see the amazing and glorious depth of what He went through for us!
