Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Even after the most fervent prayer, do not expect to feel strong.
You needed a Savior before you prayed and you need Him now. Praying does not make us feel suddenly invincible, but it should cause us to see our weakness more clearly, and cause us to watch for Him.
There is a misconception about prayer today, and I believe it bellows out of the Charismatic movement and has been propagated by "worship" music. It is that one can talk at God.
It is certainly not taught as such, but it has slammed in to the Church today with amazing momentum. People want to feel something, so they get feelings of intensity when they sing or say things over and over.
Not only is it ineffective in heaven, but it inoculates God's people against the real thing.
     I am weak.
     I feel weak.
It is a fact, and I must consider it beautiful - otherwise I will never pause to consider and gaze upon His strength.
Soldier of the Cross, confess the truth and move on!
