Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

A favorite trick of the enemy is to seduce us into trying to relive the past or living out the future in our minds before it comes about.
Worry and retrospection - two things that must not marinate the life of a Soldier of the Cross.
Should the Lord come tonight, we still have a few more hours to obey. Does your body still respond to any commands at all? Then remember, it must move or be still to obey the Lord and express wisdom.
Does your body no longer respond? Your mind does. And the Bible has many, many things to say about the thoughts of the Soldier of the Cross.
The hosts of the unseen are watching and each thought and action reflects a priority.
We must take the next few minutes, doing the thing that is immediately before us and that in honor and craftsmanship - the craftsmanship of obedience. We can only do this as we take in God's Word in freshness and assume the task has been appointed for reasons we will know when we get Home.
Believers today are spending hours playing video games, watching TV, and frittering away precious moments.

Lord, I know my body resists the momentum of Your Work.
But oh Lord, when I stand before you, I want to know I spent rather than wasted my life.
Please teach me to see all tasks that must be done as sacrifices of obedience and thank you for the clarity of the Word.
I don't ask for physical energy, but I do ask for sensitivity to the Holy Spirit that I might live in the expectation of Your soon coming.
