There are
many things we think are harmless.
For example telling others something
that is considered private about a third party taints the honor
of a Soldier. Frustration taints the honor of a Soldier.
Half-truths taint the honor of
a Soldier. A spotty devotional life taints the honor of a Soldier.
A Soldier of the Cross is such
because he has decided to follow Jesus. Nothing less and no one
else! So, each moment must be one of conscious submission.
Overwhelming? No. Because we have
a Counselor - an Along-side One. We have the Holy Spirit and
we are not on our own.
One thing is certain; we must be
content in Christ, but we may never be content in ourselves!
Lord,
please teach me to be quick to obey and even quicker to understand
I don't have the capacity to set my own standard.
Nothing is attractive or desirable
but you, and I beg you to do whatever is needed in me to bring
about the quality of submission that will release your own Life
through mine. |
