Assurance, Jesus is Mine. . . I have always found it interesting that when the Holy Spirit recorded the fact that David encouraged himself in the Lord, we were not given the details. In fact, that's all the scripture says. We know the times were difficult, all were against him and it seemed that nothing came to him but failure. Yet those beautiful words ring over and over again to the Soldier of the Cross who has found them precious. The Lord is a God of assurance! He has not required or even allowed us to quake and shake our way through life, but has offered abundant reminders that He is fighting the battle and we are only to obey. Nevertheless, "He knoweth that we are dust. . ." and the Holy Spirit - the Comforter and Alongside One assures us supernaturally that He will not forsake us. As a matter of fact, once under the Blood, nothing can separate us from His love. We can separate ourselves from the salvation experience by sinning, but He is always wooing and He is in us, and we are in Him. It will not change. Not now, not ever! |
