Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

If we are commanded to be always zealous, that means zeal is something appropriated rather than felt.
Obedience is a curious thing - those who obey find the energy to obey the next thing is greater than it was before the first act of obedience. Soon it becomes a habit and finally the Soldier absolutely cannot commit deliberate disobedience. That is why the scripture tells us that there can be a time in a believer's life when there is an end to "deliberate sin."
We are not told to feel zealous, but we are told to be always zealous and always be about, doing the work of the Lord. That means there are things to be done and we are to devote out lives to being available to the call of God - even in the tiniest things.
The issue is never whether I feel capable or energetic or have the inclination do do a thing.
     The issue is obedience.
Much of the time the Lord calls me to do the things for which I feel the least equipped.
That is not my business - it is His!
Please, please, Soldier of the Cross. Look away, unto the Author and Finisher of your faith!
