Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

The believer may not interpret anything in the same way the unbeliever does.
For example, a person without Christ thinks he earns his paycheck and that his purchased possessions are the result of his own earnings. Unfortunately, Christians seem to think the same way.
The unsaved are inconsolable when a loved one is lost and psychologists tell us they must go through all the stages of loss - shock, denial, grief, anger, then reparation. Believe it or not, many Christian books today give the same counsel to believers.
When an unbeliever is offended, he has to pass it on. I have rarely known a Christian who had the maturity to simply leave it with the Lord and put it aside.
Non-Christians fuss and piffle with things like flat tires, storms and tiredness.
But we who are saved, are supposed to be saved from these very things and from this way of thinking! Shouldn't we live differently all the time? What will cause the difference?
     The Word of God.
When the Word is taken in daily, the Soldier of the Cross has fuel for prayer, sight for the battle, and room for the Holy Spirit. His thoughts are different. They are different before the event, during it, and certainly after it.
We don't live in the same world. We don't see the same things. We are not subject to the same powers.
What's more. we are born into a Royal Race, and we can walk in the Light as He is in the Light.
We must be fresh, fresh, fresh in the Word. We don't need lugubrious knowledge - we need freshness.
We need the One who is The Word - we need Jesus!
