Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

       Don't you understand that most of the time, the lost are in denial?
     Why would someone prefer an "interfaith" service over one where the gospel is preached? Because it is confrontive. Those without Christ often are not aware of their need for a Savior, and only Grace reveals that need.
     So, while it may seem good to tread easily when the blind seem offended, it may not be kind. Remember, the Soldier of the Cross must "herald and preach the Word, in season and out of season."
     I am so glad those who knew Jesus did not agree with me before I met Him. They loved me and always told me the truth. Yes, I resented it and I said nasty things behind their backs, but I reviewed and writhed over every word. I dreamed about what they said, and I defended myself silently. I tried to be smug and superior and I told myself I was more sophisticated.
     But when the Lord touched me, I realized they had turned in a squishy and passive friendship for tools of rescue.

      "Rescue the perishing, care for the dying;
       Snatch them in pity from sin and the grave.
       Weep o're the erring one, life up the fallen.
       Tell them of Jesus, the mighty to save!"
