Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

What an amazing week this has been.
In a few minutes the course of the modern world seemed to change and immediately there was a societal change in America. The whole of society became softer and suddenly it was acceptable to pray in public. All were calling on the Lord. All were seeking comfort.
Perhaps these things were even the result of fasting and prayer by those who were appointed of God to do so.
We know what Satan intends for evil is always fully within the plan of God. The rough part is to transfer that to the little nitty-gritty things of life.
That is where the strongest fall - in the common little things that cost little, but sting the flesh.
We don't need tragedy all the time because we have the Word and the Holy Spirit keeps us pliable through obedience. But we must be vigilant.
All the while we must remember to watch and pray - we must not be caught by the same quality of desperation as was the world this week.
The Soldier of the Cross must live watchfully as does a sentry - even when drinking from the brook, which is a common and necessary thing.
We are not in control, although the flesh would disagree. So, we may not live as though we were.
Not even in the tiniest little things!
