Change can
be threatening.
But in the Kingdom of Heaven, change
simply means that the things that were hidden become visible
and usable.
These days there is much emphasis
on being modern, doing all the computer things and having a dazzling
program. Even in the most lean countries, westerners with misguided
best intentions sweep in with all the modern necessities for
a twenty-first century church.
And while the Holy spirit does
not have need of any of these things, He is always leading us
to higher ground and breaking old molds.
It is difficult for older believers
to adapt to new ways, partly because so many of them are ungodly!
But the Lord always opens new doors and He makes sure that His
people do not stagnate.
Nothing should be preserved simply
because it is the way we have always done it - we do not know
the leading of the Lord for tomorrow, and today we must follow
Him and not tradition.
No policy can be adopted. We are
only to follow. He is plenty clear to the one who is hungry for
Him, and fire by night and smoke by day is enough to see where
He is and to run after Him.
Soldier, look neither to the left nor
to the right - follow the Lord and do the thing you are led to
do.
