Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

The soldier of the Cross must learn to be content.
We are able to live in contentment because we are rooted in Him. Our satisfaction and stability absolutely may not come from circumstances or easy or difficult people.
The Bible gives implicit instructions concerning living through each day, and there is nothing in any verse to teach the Soldier of the Cross to make a happy situation here on earth. Rather, he is to learn to find contentment in the Will of God and he is to remember that he is a pilgrim and sojourner.
Remembering that, also gives the believer great freedom in praying about difficult matters, because he begins his prayer in submission to the Plan of God, without having to know, or understand, or change it.
Soldier, let go of your concept of what must be changed in order for you to be content.
Many things ought to and will change, but your heart, mind, and emotions must be fixed on the Lover of Your Soul, and nothing else!
