Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

The Christian life is not a "grin-and-bear-it" existence.
The Soldier may not feel in control, but he can learn to rest in the place created for him by the One Who is in control.
It is easy to fall into the trap of thinking that just around the bend, all will be in place and the turmoil will end. But as long as we are in this life, the turmoil will not end.
That is, the turmoil around us. All creation is creaking and groaning, waiting for the day when the enemy is banquished and all things will be different.
In the meantime, there is a place - the secret place of Psalm 91, where the Soldier can watch these things but as an observer, rather than a participator.
This can only be revealed by prayer, and by prayer over time.
But we were not created to bear fear, resentment and soul-strain. We are not equipped to carry it or pull it or push it. that means we are always dodging it, because it comes at us.
Therefore, we must find the Secret Place of Psalm 91 and dwell there.
We were created to live there, and when we seek Him on this matter, He will not evade us.
