Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

We need desperately to be changed.
There are many wonderful accounts in the Bible and in books around us, of those
who sought to be made like unto Him.
For example, Paul. He pressed. Nothing else would satisfy, quite obviously.
That is because sweet, intimate fellowship with Him can not be had by the one who is
passive about the race.
Only those who are truly serious about presenting themselves regularly before Him
will radiate the Spirit of God. Why? Because casual thought and a-lick-and-a-promise
prayer will not present a submissive heart.
The Lord is eager and, actually, quick to usher in the process, but He presses us
against the grid for which we pray.
No deep change happens without prayer.
No deep change is manifested overnight.
No deep change comes without cost.
No deep change comes without a heart desire.
No deep change comes without trial.
But deep change begins the minute the heart leaps at the idea of being more like
Him, and that minute will express itself in prayer.

Lord, I know I am not perfect. I know I fail. But I do so want to be like you.
I want those I touch to be healed by you. I want Love to pour from my life. I want
others to see your attractiveness.
More than anything, I want your attitude of submission and I must have the death of
the self-life.
Lord Jesus, please do whatever is needed to bring about your own likeness in me.
