Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

We must learn to love the correction of the Lord.
If we don't, we will try to correct ourselves according to our interpretation of His
standards.
     A sure setup for failure.
One can look for quite a while before finding anyone who has learned to love
correction. That person will have been soundly and consistently corrected as a child
and will never have been allowed to talk his way out of the situation.
He will not have been allowed to argue.
He will not have been the center of attention in his family.
He will not have been allowed to roll his eyes or call others names.
Every little thing will have been caught and calmly dealt with.
That is how the Lord deals with us, and we have power to respond. The indwelling
Holy Spirit enables us to choose to agree with God instead of resorting to self-
defense.
Brothers and sisters, there is no blindness darker than self-guidance and self-
improvement.

Lord Jesus, please do in me whatever is needed to bring eager submission. I
know I can't find my way without your correction and I want to learn to turn quickly
and with a heart of worship.
Please Lord, teach me to use my remaining minutes and hours in eager
anticipation of your attention and discipline.
