Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Soldier, you must learn how to speak to the Lord.
In all other areas of life, there is instruction right down to the smallest detail. But
the unfortunate fact is, Christians are not taught skills in approaching the Lord.
While it is true that the Lord Himself leads us and teaches us to pray, there are
some basic things that must be understood.
Firstly, simply thinking about God and about the situation is not prayer. I have often
heard people claim that they have prayed much about a thing when, in fact, they
have actually not prayed at all. Prayer is that bending of the will that takes place when
forming a request according to God's Word.
It should be out loud unless there are unusual circumstances. If it is not out loud, it
is usually wool gathering.
Several things happen when the believer knells or sits or stand before the Lord (I
prefer to stand.)
       He carefully chooses his words.
He is more likely to be conscious of his audience before the amazing Person
Who died for him.
He has obeyed, and he will finish with a clean conscience.
He will bear with him the Glory of the Lord. Even if he does not sense it, others
will see it.
Soldier, stop trying to decide why you are doing things, and just obey the Word of
 the Lord.
Pray like you have never prayed before.
